Sherman Community Players

The Sherman Community Players announce an exciting line up of plays for its 66th season of producing live quality theatre in the Texoma region.  “I think next years line up is very impressive and has something for everyone” says artistic director of SCP, Anthony Nelson.  Next year’s line up kicks off in October with “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, at Christmas we will produce the sequel to “Greater Tuna”, “A Tuna Christmas”, then the winter drama will be “Driving Miss. Daisy” followed by the classic comedy “Born Yesterday”, and then we will finish the season with the musical “Les Miserable”.  “I am extremely excited about “Les Miserable”, not only because it’s Les Miz, but because we will be officially collaborating with Austin College and the Community Series on this production.  Theatricks, SCP’s Children theatre, directed by Webster Crocker also has a fine season on hand for its 26th season, beginning with “The Secret Garden: the Musical”, “The Velveteen Rabbit” in February, and then finishing up in the middle of the summer with “Bridge to Terabithia”.  “We have some extra programs in store for next year as well; SCP is bringing in Wyatt Earp, to perform his one-man show “Wyatt Earp: Life on the Frontier” during the Arts Festival weekend, and we will also have an encore performance of Honky Tonk Angels, our 2014 summer benefit musical, on New Years Eve.” Explains Nelson.

Season memberships for both Main stage and Theatricks are currently on sale during the run of “Chicago” which will finish up its run at the end of June.  Visit SCP’s website at www.scptheater.org for more information.
