The Tarrant Actors Regional Theatre today announced its 2014-15 season, adding a third production to a mixture of classic drama, mystery, and comedy.

First up is Arthur Miller’s searing drama The Crucible, running September 12-28.  Originally written as a condemnation of McCarthyism in the 1950s, The Crucible tells the story of a young farmer struggling to save his wife’s life and his own good name during the hysteria of the Salem witchcraft trials of 1692.  It received the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play.

Its second production is Agatha Christie’s mystery, The Mousetrap, running January 9-25, 2015.  Now in its 62nd year in London’s West End, The Mousetrap is the world’s longest-running play.  Considered by many to be Christie’s masterpiece, it tells the story of guests at a snowbound lodge in the English countryside who are stalked by a killer in their midst.

Rounding out the season is Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Zindel’s screwball comedy, The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild, running May 8-24, 2015.  Its title character is an eccentric housewife who has virtually escaped from reality into a dream world conjured up by the 3,000 movies she has eagerly devoured.  And when the outside world intrudes, she meets each crisis with a hilarious fantasy scene drawn from her precious lode of old movies.

“We are thrilled to add a third production to our second season,” said Artistic Director Allen Walker.  “It’s a great blend of drama, comedy and mystery.  We think we’ve got a little something for everyone’s tastes.”
The Tarrant Actors Regional Theatre’s performances take place in the Sanders Theatre at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, located at 1300 Gendy Street, Fort Worth TX 76107.

Season tickets go on sale in early June.  For more information, visit their website at www.thetart.org or call (682) 231-0082.
