“The Underpants” is a delightful bit of frothy fun being served up with verve and style at Rover Dramawerks. The production takes place in an intimate thrust stage, with seating on three sides, so there’s not a bad seat in the house. Director Janette Oswald has done a terrific job in both her vision and staging of this piece for the space, and her cast is hilarious.

From the delightful little Mom and Pop shops to many local beaneries, and a quaint town square, historic Granbury, Texas is home to Granbury Theatre Company, housed in the extraordinary 1886 Granbury Opera House. Their current “offering” is the musical “Sister Act,” the second production of this Broadway on the Brazos season to have Nuns grace the stage (the previous was the classic, “The Sound of Music”). I guess you could say they acquired a habit this season. I know, even that pun would get me the hook from the wings. I “confess” that puns do get better (and there’s your third…rim shot, please).
