Scott Lee Clayton is an award-winning Musical Director now residing in Dallas, Texas after 2 extensive moves and hopes to stay in the DFW area for the long haul.

Scott started his theatre career in Philadelphia, PA where he starred in numerous roles in the theatre community in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Some credits include: Fiddler on the Roof (Motel), Roald Dahl?s Willy Wonka (Grandpa Joe), Peter Pan (Mr. Smee), The Wizard of Oz (Cowardly Lion), Little Mermaid (Scuttle) and many others.

In 2008, Scott relocated with his family to Broken Arrow, OK, where he would go on to do more theatre and work with some of the industry greats. In Oklahoma, Scott got to work in MasterClass settings with the likes of Kingsley Leggs, Faith Prince, Larry Wayne Morbitt, Lucie Arnaz, Laurence Luckinbill, Viola Davis and most importantly Kristin Chenoweth. Speaking of Chenoweth, he actually got to sing with Kristin in Carnegie Hall in 2014 as part of a collaboration with the Broken Arrow High School Fine Arts Department, as Scott is a proud Broken Arrow High School Graduate. Some credits in Oklahoma include an equity production of Hairspray (IQ), Hello Dolly (Ensemble), To Kill A Mockingbird (Walter Cunningham) and countless other roles.

In college, Scott?s course of direction in theatre changed as he developed a passion for Music Directing and switched careers from being a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education to a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. Scott holds an Associate of Arts in Theatre from Tulsa Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre at The University of Tulsa. Acting credits in college include Star Spangled Girl (Andy), True West (Austin), Midsummer Nights Dream (Egeus), Man of La Mancha (Innkeeper/Barber), Maine (Steve), Young Frankenstein (Igor) and countless others

While Clayton did act in college, he predominantly music directed in the latter half of his collegiate studies. Scott was often seen at his college as a rehearsal accompanist as he would assist musical directors and rehearsal accompany for the likes of Man of La Mancha, Listen To My Heart: The Songs of David Friedman, and the musical Big Fish, and even music directed and played piano for The University of Tulsa?s Musical Theatre Miscast Cabarets in the spring.

Scott is also a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Meritorious Award-Winning Music Director for his work in Fun Home and Greek Soup: An Original Musical at Tulsa Community College. Other Musical Directing Credits include several original musicals, Falsettos and First Date.

In addition to acting and music directing, Scott also has a background in film as he is a freelance theatre videographer and even edits for various pro wrestling companies in the Midwest. Scott?s background as a videographer is extensive as he oversaw the Video Production of The University of Tulsa?s 2020-2021 season during the pandemic filming virtual productions of Almost, Maine and Listen To My Heart: The Songs of David Friedman.

As far as journalism and writing, Scott is an active creative writer and even a playwright. Every theatre show Scott sees in the DFW area, he will write a review and give his honest and intellectual thoughts on each production very thoroughly on his Facebook page.
