Richard Blake
Associate Critic
Richard S. Blake has been in the entertainment industry for over twenty-four years as an Award Winning Professional Actor, Director and Producer. Some of his Directorial credits include Ebenezer Scrooge; All Shook Up!; Godspell; Walt Disney's Jungle Book Kids; The Full Monty; Noises Off!; Barefoot In The Park; She Loves Me and the World Premiere All His Songs Were Sad. A Professional Actorin Film, Television and Stage, Richard recently filmed the Network Documentary True Tales: Tammi True for AMS Pictures. He is also currently working on a film Clown Killers and slated to work on another feature film Treble to Bass. He has appeared in many featured roles in episodic and television network shows such as Early Edition (Andrew) with CBS Television. Some of his stage credits include: Art of Murder (Vincent); The Futility of Hope (Steve); the critically acclaimed and Award Nominated The Importance of Being Lovely (Randy); the Critics Pick for "Best Actor in Godspell (Judas); the Award Winning portrayal in A Streetcar Named Desire (Stanley); Children of Eden (Adam/Noah); Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! (Teacher); Walt Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Beast/Prince) and Noises OFF! (Lloyd).
He holds a Degree in International Business Marketing and Management with an emphasis in Theatre Arts/Production offering him a greater understanding of Arts Organization's needs, wants and organizational structures.
Richard is an active and proud Professional Member in good standing of; The Column Awards Voting Academy, Judging Panel for the Dallas Summer Musicals High School Music Awards (DSM), Young Professionals for Watertower Theatre (YP4WTT), The Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County Grants Committee, The Dallas Producers Association (DPA), American Association of Community Theatre (AACT), United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), Texas Nonprofit Theatres (TNT) and various other Community Organizations that benefit youth and young adults on a volunteer basis. He is also proud and humbled to be the first recipient of the Rudy Seppy Volunteer Service COLUMN Award presented to him by Mrs. Rudy Seppy. It will always hold a special place in his heart and was a catalyst for much of his service to the local Arts Community today!
