PFAMILY ARTS ANNOUNCES

2013-2014 THEATRE SEASON

PFAMILY ARTS announces its upcoming 2013-2014 season of a Dickens murder mystery, a review by the hottest new Broadway writers, a religious debate, and a romantic comedy.

DroodDROOD (THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD) October 3-12 by Rupert Holmes is inspired by the unfinished Dickens mystery; this recent Broadway hit deals with John Jasper who is madly in love with his music student, the fair Miss Rosa Bud, who in turn is engaged to Jasper's nephew, young Edwin Drood, who disappears mysteriously one stormy Christmas Eve-but has Edwin Drood been murdered? And if so, then whodunit?  Only the audience will decide.

EdgesEDGES December 12-21 from the award winning duo of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul is an exciting new show about burgeoning adults asking classic coming of age questions. The contemporary song cycle carries an honest voice advocating introspection while maintaining wit and charm covering such universal issues as love, commitment, identity and meaning.

The Sunset LimitedTHE SUNSET LIMITED February 6-15 by Cormac McCarthy begins on a subway platform in New York City , when “Black”, an ex-con from the South saves the life of “White”, an intellectual atheist who wasn't looking for salvation and follows their articulate and moving debate about truth, fiction and belief.  Is Black a guardian angel or just a sinner looking for redemption? Was White really saved, or is he stuck in a kind of purgatory?

The Bakers WifeTHE BAKERS WIFE April 3-12 a gently bittersweet and off-beat fable of life, love and bread by Stephen Schwartz. The bickering residents of a rural village in Provence , France in 1935 have been without a Baker for 7 weeks. They finally find peace and contentment in the new Baker, Aimable, and his attractive young wife, Genevieve. However, when Genevieve is lured away by a handsome young gigolo, the middle-aged Baker loses all zest for life and baking. When he refuses to bake, the villagers must work as a team to bring Aimable and Genevieve back together.
